Updated to reflect a change in the recipe changes I made -
Here's a banner that I had trouble deciding how to display this year. I wanted it outside.
I came up with, what I thought was, a great idea…imho
I took 5 DSP cardboard backs to make the bottom backsplash and took 4 DSP cardboard backs to make the top backsplash. It took two pieces of the Waffle Paper to cover both pieces but I still had a ton of Waffle Paper left…love that stuff. It's in the current Holiday Mini Catalog and still available for purchase :-)
Then the problem was that duct tape wouldn’t stick to the brick and my husband said he didn’t have anything that would. Well…I thought that our Sticky Strip might…low and behold….it’s still holding the next day. Woo hoo. LOVE Sticky Strip for lots of things...now I can add it to being better than Duct Tape.
Here is a picture from the street and then one close up. Hope you like it. You can click on any picture to view a larger image
Also on Halloween, it’s a long tradition between myself and an old back door neighbor that we make chili on Halloween. She’s now in PA and I’m here in VA but we share this tradition and always talk on Halloween as we’re making our chili. I love this tradition. This year I was looking for a new chili recipe, although the one I use often is a wonderful recipe from a dear departed brother-in-law. So, guess what I found…cracks me up – but very appropriate for Halloween :-)
“VAMPIRE SLAYER’S CHILI”
I think taking a picture worked. Let me know if you can't read it but it looks good to me. Click on picture to get larger image.
whoops. I forgot to say that I doubled this recipe and instead of doubling the turkey, I tripled it to 3 lbs. and only used one package of Portobello mushrooms.
The only thing I changed was to put 3 lbs. of ground turkey and one package of Portabello muchrooms. I didn't pay attention to the TIP as I use Chili Powder on my shelf and I don't ever buy 'no salt' anything. I also didn't have time to put it in the crock pot so it's simmering on my stove for 3 hours. It's still YUMMY. With all the garlic, though not overpowering, will keep the vampires away tonight.
Let me know if you try this and what you think.
