St. Patrick's Day Pop-Up and Spring Butterfly Card

Here are 2 cards we made for club last night.  The ladies loved them.  The St Patrick's Day is from the Occasions Mini Catalog and the inside 'Celebrate' is from the Outline Occasions set in the Sale-a-brations(SAB) catalog.  The butterfly card is from the Fresh Vintage set in the Sale-a-bration catalog. 

One of these days I'm going to get into the video/tutorial world and then I could just send you to my video to watch me make my cards.  But I'm just not there YET.

The Square Lattice Embossing folder was used with the Big Shot Machine to create the textured background and it's done with a piece of 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 piece of Vellum Cardstock.  It's such a cool affect when it turns the raised portion of the vellum to white.  We heat embossed the St. Patrick's Day by stamping with Garden Green Craft ink and then covering with Clear Embossing Powder and then heat seting with our heat gun. Then flip it over and use our coordinating Stamin' Write Markers to color inside the outlined words.  It looks messy when you're coloring but when you flip it back to the right side, it's beautiful.  This technique of coloring is called Stained Glass.  After coloring the vellum, we used the Labels Collection Framelits and the Big Shot to cut out the St. Patrick's Day image and the next size up for the mat behind it.  We used the Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the vellum to weave the new 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon through.  The colors used on this card are Lucky Limeade (new In-color) and Garden Green.

Simply Scored, Window Sheets, Sticky Strip, and Heart to Heart punch were used to pop the hearts up.

The colors for the butterfly card are inspired from the flowers blooming in my front yard this week!  Last night snow....not much but the flowers are confused.  The daffodils are budding and the tulips are coming up.  We are having crazy weather.  

This card layout is inspired from my sister Donna.  Thanks sis.  As demonstrators and sisters, we love sharing ideas with each other and, it keeps us close even though we're hundreds of miles apart.

Wonderful Wings Embosslit, Big Shot, Fresh Vintage stamp set. Pearls for the big butterfly. Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker.  It's hard to see that we colored in the flowers and dots with the marker, which pulls the colors together nicely.  Concord Crush is an in-color that will be going away in a few months.  I will miss it.

Valentine card - I {Heart} Hearts

Don't you love all of our punches.  They make my life so much easier.  Stamp, punch, punch, adhesive and layer.  You're done.  Well, it's almost that fast.  This card was very fast to make and nobody asked for help making a bow....not any of the 25 ladies that attended Stamp Camp on Saturday.  Usually, I hear "Oh Ruth, please help me make my bow."  Sometimes they just yell for "HELP."  Not this time because I showed them how to make a bow that is beautiful every time and there's no tying.  For this project, the ribbon is 8 1/2" long.  You fold, ribbon candy style, into 3 equal parts, leaving a little extra on each 'tail.'  Then scrunch the middle of the ribbon together and take your brad(opened up all the way) and wrap the tongs?(is that what they are) around the ribbon and close the tongs around the backside and adhere with a dimensional.  Is that clear as mud?  lmk.  Anyway, I learned to do that at Leadership in San Antonio a week ago and it is full proof.  EVERYONE did their own...well, Tricia had a little help but she likes to make me feel needed :-)  The background of this card is stamped with the background stamp 'En Francais' and it was happy to be taken out and used again.  I love that stamp and any background stamp for that matter.  Then we added lots of bling and it was such a pretty card.  Denise DeLawter, one of my 'Stampers with Sparkle,' inspired this creation.

Occasions Mini Catalog sample

I made this on Saturday too.  Isn't it pretty.  The sets come from the Occasions Mini Catalog and then the 3-heart punch was used to punch the hearts out.  The paper piercer was used to punch the holes around the circle.  The circle is the big circle die using the Big Shot.  The stamp sets are 'Clearly for You' and 'Be My Valentine.'

Well, I'm supposed to head out to our annual Leadership Conference on Wednesday.  It's in Nashville and they are getting lots of snow this week.  Several friends flights have been cancelled but they were going through airports in the south east.  Keep your fingers crossed that I get out of here on Wednesday.

Jumbo Wheel Valentine

This is so pretty with  simple elegance, I think we'll have to make it at a Stamp Camp in January.  It uses the Heart to Heart Punch (3 hearts in one punch), I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel, the Big Shot Die Cut Machine and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the Scalloped Heart Embosslit die.
