So first, here's the owl in the tree on a card. Too cute. Don't you love it. I love all owls; I just think they are so cool. On this card, the background is made with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. Then the oval is cut out and the owl is punched with the Owl Punch and so are the leaves/limb. I love the Owl Punch and all punches.
Now, see picture below for what was in my backyard yesterday. WHO WHO, WHO COOKS FOR YOU? That's what the Barred Owl says...
It's still hard to believe the wildlife right in our backyard, 20 minutes from the city. I never get tired of the foxes, deer, raccoons, opossums, hawks, owls, etc. It's all wonderful.
This little guy (not so little actually) was just roosting in a tree right off of our deck yesterday. (You can click on any image and it will bring up a larger image for you). I love it when they do that. I can go out and talk to them and take all kinds of pictures and they just put up with me. I hadn't had one so close to the house in about a year so I was excited when I heard the Blue Jays making a ruckus outside my door yesterday. I knew it was either an owl or a hawk. Then, I remembered that it's the Blue Jays that dive bomb the owls and the Crows/Black Birds that harass the Hawks. The Jays were just diving and pecking at this guy's head and the owl just sat there. I scared the birds away and then enjoyed the owl. He stayed until it got dark and then he took off to hunt for the evening. Enjoy
