Easy Masculine Card.
I rarely leave home without a camera. These days, when I do, I have my phone with me...for emergency stops. I have been known to yell, "stop the car," on occasion. That usually means I have spotted something that I want to take a picture of. A lot of the time, it's a beautiful tree that I've spotted and I just have to have a picture of it. I have done this for as far back as I can remember. My poor husband has always put up with it and rarely complained about it.
My love of trees is why I probably own every stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalog that has a tree in it. It's also why 'Lovely as a Tree' continues to be my all time favorite set in the catalog. It is very well loved, as you can see from the photo below. Can you tell which one I have used the most? It's covered with Dazzling Diamonds glitter but that doesn't hurt a thing. While other demonstrators would love to see this retire...every year...I hold my breath and hope that it stays. I believe it is still the most versatile set in the catalog.
Squirrel....I tend to get off topic all the time.
Okay, one more....I love trees and snow and snow covered trees.
Okay, back to my post for the day. I love trees and when I see a set that's intended for one use, I try to use it in other ways. Such is the case with 'Christmas Magic' in the 2016 Holiday catalog. I had a stamp camp last month and didn't want to make Christmas cards yet but I wanted to use this set. The trees are good year round. Yes, they're probably more for fall or winter but I'll use them all year. Here's the card I designed for Stamp Camp. The Vertical Greetings stamp set was perfect to pair with it. It's a great masculine birthday card. What do you think?
Yes, I did cheat and use a retired button. Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.
BUT...I did let everyone take home the rest of that pack of retired buttons. :-)
