Lovely As A Tree

Oh my...Mike is on a roll with making delicious dinners.  Tonight it was Pumpkin Soup and salad with Romaine lettuce, dried cranberries, feta cheese, walnuts, oranges and raspberry/walnut dressing.  YUMMY.  I may be able to bring back my Monday features of Monday's with Mike. 

Okay, onto samples for you.

This stamp set is an oldie but a goodie.  It's one of my most used stamp sets and it's one of the most versatile sets.  It can be used for any season.  It's suitable for masculine or feminine and it's just plan WONDERFUL.

This was another card we made at our last Christmas card class.  Hope you like it.

We cut out an oval from a piece of cardboard and threw away the actual oval and used the negative to sponge old olive ink into.  Then, we stamped the line of trees in old olive ink and stamped off once onto scratch paper and then stamped a second time onto the card front.  Then, ink the single pine tree in old olive ink and apply shimmer paint on top of the stamped tree and then stamp onto the card front.  Simple but very pretty.  Enjoy.  If you click on the image, it will open in another window larger than below and maybe you can see the tree shimmer.

Lovely as a Tree

One of my all time favorite stamp sets is Lovely as a Tree.  It has been around forever and I hope it never retires.  This sample is a birthday card made by one of my team members Joan.  She made it for her brother in law, who is the husband of my friend and customer Jean, who is also Joan's identical twin...got that?  lol

The technique is Black Magic.  You stamp an image in White Craft ink onto a dark cardstock...black in this case.  Then let that dry.  Then color the image with your watercolor pencils and watch the color pop.  Joan then highlighted the tips of the branches with the white Gel Pen.  I think this is striking.  Garden Green and Basic Black cardstock.  Then a touch of white satin ribbon gives the finishing touch.

 

Lovely as a Tree

This stamp set is still one of my very favorites.  Every year I am afraid to look at the retiring stamp sets list because I think it will be on there.  Then every year I don't see it on there, I think "We're safe for another year."  lol

I love the simplicity of this card, yet it is so elegant.  Gold embossing can do that for ya.  Hope you like it.
