I love to watch the birds eating their breakfast as I'm in the kitchen making my 1st cup of coffee in the morning. They always bring a smile to my face.
They definitely have a feeding hierarchy, as they line up on the gutters for their turns at the feeder. I haven't figured it out and it's not so important to me that I have to research it. It is fun to watch though.
The suet feeder is a different story. The woodpeckers must rank the highest because they don't seem to move for anyone. This morning as they flew away, the bluebirds swooped in. This is the first time I have seen bluebirds on the suet feeder. We did buy a different variety the other day...is that why? I didn't even know bluebirds ate suet. Oh....I just realized that I only took pictures of the suet feeder this morning. Well, that's what I was fascinated with this morning because of the bluebirds. I thought they only ate bugs. Maybe because the ground is frozen, they are now seeking other means of nourishment? That does require some research because I love blue birds and I hope they continue to feed at the suet feeder.
Here are some of my feathered friends this morning.
